Astara Capital Partners Announces Second Sawmill Acquisition
Astara Capital Partners has formed Camden Timbers to acquire and restart the assets of Victory Lumber, a southern yellow pine sawmill located in Camden, Arkansas. The Camden Timber investment is Astara’s second sawmill investment. Previously, Astara’s ACP Lumber Holdings acquired Cross City Lumber in April of 2021.
Canfor Pulp Products Further Extends Production Curtailment at Taylor Pulp Mill in B.C.
Canfor Pulp Products Inc. announced on Tuesday that it was further extending the production curtailment at their Taylor Pulp Mill in Vancouver. The Taylor mill produces bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp, with an annual production capacity of 230,000 tons. The curtailment will “continue for an extended period of time.”

GreenFirst Forest Products Inc. has announced that it plans to use a large $17.2 million (CAD) performance-based loan from Ontario to support a proposal to relocate, improve, and expand the former Kenora Forest Products mill site. This performance-based loan is conditional on Ontario and the company finalizing a contract.
