AB Karl Hedin, one of Sweden’s leading privately owned wood groups, has announced their intention to build a new planing mill, with extra storage capacity and further timber kiln drying facilities at its sawmill in Krylbo, Avesta. The Krylbo spruce-pine sawmill has an annual production of capacity of 215,000m3.

Weston Forest with their head office located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, has announced that they have been acquired by the Watermill Group, a strategy driven private investment firm. Weston which operates eight facilities across eastern Canada and the U.S., provides niche market services and products that are vital to commercial and residential construction as well as the production and shipment of industrial goods.

Canfor has announced that their B.C. Christmas and New Year’s holiday scheduled has been altered this year. Growing demand for lumber products has reduced Christmas holiday downtime from the seven days down to just four days.
HS Timber Breaks Ground on New Sawmill in Belarus
HS Timber Group, began construction of a new sawmill in Grodno region of Belarus. The softwood mill will process pine and spruce logs and is expected to have an annual operating capacity of 500,000 m3 when completed in the spring of 2022.
