HS Timber Breaks Ground on New Sawmill in Belarus

HS Timber Group, began construction of a new sawmill in Grodno region of Belarus. The softwood mill will process pine and spruce logs and is expected to have an annual operating capacity of 500,000 m3 when completed in the spring of 2022. The 84 million Euro (103 million USD) investment adds to HS Timber Group’s existing mills sites in Germany and Romania. The company cited the availability of sustainably managed timber and access to Polish port of Gdansk along with connection to European and Russian rail systems as strategic factors in selecting the mill’s location.
