Canfor to Sell Mackenzie Assets for $70 Million

Canfor Corporation on Thursday (2-24-22) announced that it has entered into a Letter of Intent with McLeod Lake Indian Band and Tsay Keh Dene Nation to sell its forest tenure in the Mackenzie region of British Columbia and in a separate agreement with Peak Renewables to sell its Mackenzie site, plant, and equipment for a combined price of $70 million (CAD).

Canfor to Reduce Production Capacity at Plateau Sawmill by 150 Million Board Feet

Canfor Corporation announced on Tuesday (2-15-22) the permanent reduction of 150 million board feet of production capacity at its Plateau Sawmill to resize the facility and align it with the available, sustainable timber supply in the region following the devastating impacts of the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation and other constraints on the timber harvesting land base.

LP Building Solutions to Sell its Equity Interest in I-Joist Joint Venture to Resolute Forest Products

LP Building Solutions announced today (2-14-22) that it has entered into an agreement with Resolute Forest Products Inc. to sell its 50% equity interest in two joint ventures that produce I-joists. The sale, which is subject to customary adjustments, is valued at $50 million. The joint ventures are comprised of Resolute-LP Engineered Wood Larouche Inc. and Resolute-LP Engineered Wood St-Prime Limited Partnership.
