West Fraser Issues Statement Regarding Recent Media Speculation About CVC Capital & Kronospan’s Interest in Acquiring the Company

Reuters reported on Tuesday (7-19-22) morning that according to a source familiar with the matter, private equity firm CVC Capital and wood panel manufacturer Kronospan have submitted a joint expression of interest in acquiring Canadian lumber company West Fraser Timber Co.

The US Structural Plywood Integrity Coalition on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, filed a motion in Federal District Court in Florida for an expedited hearing and temporary injunction against Forestwood Industries Inc. and Association for Laboratory Accreditation Inc (“A2LA”) and their certification of Brazilian manufactured plywood panels.

Tolko Company Releases Update on Fire Damage Repair Process for High Prairie, Alberta, OSB Facility

Investigations continue into the fire that damaged the Tolko OSB facility in High Prairie, Alberta, on Friday, May 20. Currently, there is no production taking place at the site. The facility is still shipping out existing finished product as trucks and empty railcars become available. On May 30, operations teams started clean-up in restricted areas.
