University of Maine Unveils the First 100% Bio-Based 3-D Printed Home
The University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composite Center on Monday unveiled BioHome3D, the first 3D-printed house made entirely with bio-based materials. BioHome3D was developed with funding from the US Department of Energy’s Hub and Spoke program between UMaine and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Denver’s Tallest Mass Timber Building Scheduled to Break Ground in July 2023
“Return to Form,” a new 12-story mass timber building located in Denver, is scheduled to break ground in July 2023. The mass timber will be made from Douglas Fir harvest in the Pacific Northwest and the building is being designed so that walls and ceilings are exposed wood.

Washington, DC’s first mass timber commercial office building has opened at 80 M Street. The new mass timber structure is located atop the oldest high-rise building in DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood. The project used about 1,380 tons of mass timber.
