The US Department of Agriculture on Friday announced that nearly $10 million is being invested in forest nursery and native seed partnerships, with funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Of the total funding, $4.5 million is being invested in 29 facilities to modernize forest nurseries.

Graydon Smith, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry for Ontario, announced at Forests Ontario’s annual conference that the provincial government is investing $2.1 million (CAD) in tree planting through Forests Ontario. Forest Ontario has planted more than 41 million trees to date.

Nova Scotia announced on Wednesday that the province has updated its agreements with Port Hawkesbury Paper, which will support sustainable ecological forestry practices and management of public lands. Originally signed in 2012, the province has two separate agreements with the company.

Oregon Department of Forestry Provides $4.4 Million in Grants to Increase Capacity of Tree Nurseries
Recent wildfires, disease, and pests have led to millions of acres of Oregon land being deforested. To help address the issue, the Oregon Legislature provided the Department of Forestry with $4.4 million in grants to help ten tree nurseries increase their ability to produce seedlings.
