Loggers Seek Parity with Agriculture on Trade, Tariff Policies
The American Loggers Council (ALC) has sent a letter to U.S. Agriculture Department Secretary Sonny Perdue, asking that he included unrefined forest products, which include widely exported commodities such as wood fiber and logs, as an agricultural commodity. In their letter the ALC said that aligning timber and agriculture would enable impacted loggers to receive relief as the industry continues to be impacted by retaliatory tariffs.
