Freddie Mac has released its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) for the week ending July 22, 2021. The PMMS reports that 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 2.78% with an average 0.7 point, down from last week when it averaged 2.88%. A year ago, at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 3.01%.

According to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Weekly Mortgage Application Survey, for the week ending July 16, 2021, the Market Composite Index — a measure of mortgage loan application volume — decreased -4.0% on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the Index increased -20% compared with the previous week.
Housing Starts Move Higher in June; Permits and Completions Trend Lower
