Southeast Timber Products Announces $120 Million Expansion of Its Ackerman, MS, Sawmill

Southeastern Timber Products plans to invest more than $120 million to expand its sawmill in Ackerman, Mississippi, WTVA reported (2-3-25). The project is expected to add 40 jobs.

Southeastern Timber Products is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of Southern pine lumber, timber, and decking products and has been in continuous operation since 1972. In November 2018, British Columbia-based Tolko Industries entered into a joint-venture partnership with Southeastern Timber Products to form Southeastern Timber Products LLC, An STP-Tolko Partnership.

The Mississippi Development Authority said the company will install a new sawmill line, new dry kilns, and storage facilities so it can produce more of its product. The plan is for production to ramp up from 120 million board feet a year to 300 million board feet a year.

Southeastern Timber Products is getting a tax incentive from the state and getting help from Choctaw County to make the expansion a reality.
