Finland’s Lumber and Plywood Mills face Potential Strike

The Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF) believe that a strike by the Industrial Union, which represents sawmill and plywood factories is highly likely to take place. The FFIF is reporting that negotiations around new terms of employment with Industrial Union have not made much progress. The Industrial Union is looking to “harmonize” a package solution that will cover all export industries. That would include not only the sawmills and plywood factories but also the Finnish Paper Workers Union. Finland’s most significant export products are paper and paper products.
