Metsä Group Signs Agreement With Raute for Delivery of Technology for New Kerto LVL Mill in Äänekoski, Finland

Metsä Group announced on Monday (11-13-23) that it has signed an agreement with Raute, the wood products industry technology supplier, for the technology delivery of the new Kerto LVL mill located in Äänekoski, Finland.

According to a press release, Raute’s technology will include all the main production process of the mill, from the veneer peeling to LVL billet pressing. The production line will use Raute’s latest technology in automation and data collection as well.

The ordered machinery and equipment are scheduled to be delivered between 2025Q1 and 2026Q1. They will be manufactured at Raute’s production units in Lahti and Kajaani, Finland, and in the company’s partnership network.

Commenting on the announcement, Metsä Wood Executive Vice President Jaakko Anttila said:

Our long-term cooperation with Raute and the joint development of the mill’s technological solutions provide excellent conditions for achieving these goals.”
