US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in March
USDA: US wood pellet exports top 781,576 metric tons in March
The US exported 781,576.4 metric tons of wood pellets in March, down from 796,490.2 metric tons in February and from 938,622.3 metric tons in March 2024, a Biomass Magazine review (5-6-25) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to more than a dozen countries in March. The UK was the top destination for exports at 483,095.8 metric tons, followed by Japan at 115,759.8 metric tons and the Netherlands at 84,527 metric tons.
The value of US wood pellet exports was $165.18 million in March, up from $147.92 million in February but down from $174.33 million a year earlier.
Total wood pellet exports in Q1 reached 2.4 million metric tons at a value of $471.06 million, compared to 2.38 million metric tons at a value of $450.03 million during the same period in 2024.
