Carbotech Group Acquires Sawquip

On Thursday (2-1-24), Carbotech Group announced that it has acquired Sawquip, a manufacturing company specializing in the design and manufacture of sawmill equipment for the primary and secondary breakdown of logs into lumber.

According to the press release, the acquisition of Sawquip will allow Carbotech to add a new field of expertise, providing customers with innovative new solutions for lumber production. Sawquip’s innovative products include log turners and optimized log infeeds, chipping canters, twin, and quad circular saw modules, as well as positive cant turners to allow for controlled curve sawing, among others.

To standardize procedures and presentations, Sawquip equipment will now be part of the Carbotech brand.

Commenting on the acquisition, Carbotech Group Executive Vice President Luc Houde said:

“Uniting Sawquip’s knowledge and products with our own will strengthen our expertise and allow us to expand our log solutions.”
