West Fraser Completes Sale of Its Hinton Pulp Mill in Alberta to Mondi Group

On Monday, West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. announced that it has completed the sale of its Hinton Pulp mill in Alberta to Mondi Group plc (“Mondi”) following the completion of Canadian regulatory reviews and satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Hinton Pulp produces unbleached kraft pulp, and the press release noted that West Fraser will continue to support the mill through a long-term fiber supply agreement.

In remarks accompanying the announcement, Canfor President and CEO Sean McLaren said:
