Tolko Industries Reduces Production at Its Lakeview Sawmill in BC

Tolko Industries will temporarily lay off 60 workers and reduce its shifts from two down to one 50-hour shift per week at its Lakeview sawmill located in Williams Lake, BC, The Williams Lake Tribune reported (2-2-24).

The layoffs are scheduled to begin on February 19th.

“We’re hoping its temporary,” Tolko media spokesperson Chris Downey said, according to the report. Citing high costs of operations in BC, he said the economic conditions are challenging.
