US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in October
USDA: US wood pellet exports top 839,226 tons in October
The US exported 839,226.4 metric tons of wood pellets in October, down from 898,128.2 metric tons in September but up from 835,490.8 metric tons in October 2023, a Biomass Magazine review (12-5-24) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to approximately a dozen countries in October. The UK was the top destination for US exports at 700,824 metric tons, followed by Denmark at 92,850.8 metric tons and the French West Indies at 39,520 metric tons.
The value of US wood pellet exports fell to $154.72 million in October, down from $167.05 million in September and $155.41 million in October of 2023.
Total wood pellet exports for the first 10 months of 2024 reached 8.25 million metric tons at a value of $1.53 billion, compared to 7.91 million metric tons at a value of $1.46 billion during the same period of last year.
