Sveaskog, Sweden’s Largest Forest Owner, Announces Timber Price Increases

Sweden’s Sveaskog, a state-owned company and the country’s largest forest owner, recently announced (5-1-24) that it was raising the price of timber and pulpwood in large parts of the country.

According to a press release, all timber assortments have been adjusted upwards by SEK 75/m3 fub and the price for all softwood pulpwood was adjusted upwards by SEK 40/m3 sub. All current prices are available here.

Commenting on the price increase, Sveaskog Head of Purchasing Jens Stenberg said (translated):

“There is still a great need for green raw materials in the industry and demand from customers is high. As Sweden’s largest forest owner, Sveaskog wants to contribute to strengthening the value of the Swedish forest. The price increase improves profitability and creates better conditions for active forestry among private forest owners.”
