Long strike in mechanical wood industry ends in Finland
A strike that started in January by nearly 10,000 Finnish workers, mainly in the sawmill and plywood plants in Finland, has come to an end. As both the Finnish Forest Industries Federation and the Finnish Industrial Union accepted a proposal presented by National Conciliator Vuokko Piekkala. Work is scheduled to begin at the plants and sawmills on Monday, February 24th, 2020.
