Glennon Brothers Awarded Forestry and Land Scotland Contract

Thanks to a new contract awarded by the Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS), Glennon Brothers, a timber processor in Troon, will be able to create 25 new jobs by adding a third shift at their sister business Alexanders Timber Design. It also secures the future of two local forestry contracting firms.

The new contract grants Glennon Brothers permission to fell diseased larch trees and spruce on FLS land near Cowal, Argyll, and Bute. The timber is then hauled by local timber haulage companies to Sandbank Pier and shipped to the Glennon Brothers sawmill in Troon, before being processed into a range of fencing and construction products.
