Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Increase Year-Over-Year in October

According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (except pulp and paper) in October increased 20.0% in value compared to October 2023, from US$219.9 million to US$263.6 million.

Pine sawnwood exports increased 75.0% in value, from $8.6 million in October 2023 to $50.1 million in October 2024. In volume, exports increased 62.0%, from 127,900 m3 in October 2023 to 206,500 m3 in October 2024.

Tropical sawnwood exports increased 5.0% in volume, from 20,600 m3 in October 2023 to 21,700 m3 in October 2024. However, the value decreased 4%, from $9.1 million to $8.7 million, over the same period.

Pine plywood exports increased 30% in value, from $43.8 million in October 2023 to $57.1 in October 2024. In volume, exports increased 20%, from 140,600 m3 in October 2023 to 169,100 m3 in October 2024.

Tropical plywood exports decreased 8% in value but increased 24% in volume, from $1.3 million and 1,700 m3 in October 2023 to $1.2 million and 2,100 m3 in October 2024.

The value of wooden furniture exports rose from $46.2 million in October 2023 to $48.2 million in October 2024—an increase of 4%.
