Stora Enso Receives Approval to Produce Cross Laminated Timbers for US Market

With growing demand in the U.S. for wooden building structures, Stora Enso, one of the leading global providers of wood-based solution, has announced that they have received the necessary approval to produce and deliver CLT panels to the United States, in accordance with the International Building Code® (IBS). The CLT panels will also have certified in compliance with the North American CLT standard ANSI/APA PRG 320-2019, the Standard for Performance-Rated Cross-Laminated Timber. The CLT panels will be manufactured in its biggest mill, in Ybbs in Austria, Central Europe. Also, the decision has been made for an additional investment in a 4th CLT production facility at the Zdirec mill in the Czech Republic, Stora Enso plans to get the same certificate for this mill in order to produce for the US market as well. The CLT panels can be produced with a width of up to 9.68 feet (2.95 meters) and a length of up to 52.5 feet (16 meters).
