S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index Reports 5.4% Annual Home Price Gain in June
On Tuesday, S&P Dow Jones Indices released its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller US National Home Price NSA Index for June. Year-over-year, the Index, covering all nine US census divisions, posted an annual gain of 5.4%, down from a 5.9% increase in May.
The 10-City Composite posted an annual increase of 7.4% in June, down from a 7.7% annual increase in May. The 20-City Composite posted a year-over-year increase of 6.5%, down from a 6.9% increase in May.
New York reported the highest annual gain among the 20 cities with a 9.0% increase, followed by San Diego, up 8.7%, and Las Vegas, up 8.5%. Portland once again held the lowest rank for year-over-year growth, notching a 0.8% increase.
The US National Index increased 0.5% month-over-month, while the 20-City and 10-City Composites both posted increases of 0.6%. The upward trends continued to decelerate from last month.
After seasonal adjustment, the US National Index increased 0.2% month-over-month, while the 20-City and 10-City Composites rose 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively.
