Blockades Have Potential to Force the Canadian National Railroad to Shut Down Parts of Their System.

The Canadian National Railroad (CN) announced today that unless blockades on their rail lines, which were set up five days ago, are not removed, they will be forced to shut down significant parts of their network. According to the CN, one blockades is near Belleville Ontario and the other between Prince George and Prince Rupert in British Columbia. At this time due to the blockade there is currently no movement of any trains, freight or passenger. Hundreds of trains have already been canceled. The individuals responsible for the blockades have said in a public statement that their actions are in solidarity with the pipeline opposition movement and unrelated to the CN’s activity.
