Stora Enso partners with Polish plywood producer on lignin binder
Polish plywood manufacturer Paged has selected Stora Enso’s lignin product, Lineo, to replace fossil-based glue in its plywood manufacturing process, according to reporting by Timber Trades Journal Online (3-10-23).
Paged has started collaborating with Stora Enso to meet their customers’ demands for bio-based and more sustainable plywood products. This partnership also allows Paged to cut product carbon emissions.
Paged sees the possibility of replacing 40% of its fossil-based glues with Stora Enso’s Lineo, according to the report. The ultimate goal for Paged is to achieve several thousand tons of reduction in carbon emissions.
