Timberlink’s NeXTimber Facility in South Australia Presses Its First CLT Panel

Timberlink’s NeXTimber facility co-located at its Tarpeena, South Australia, manufacturing plant has pressed its first cross-laminated timber (CLT) panel, marking another milestone in the construction of Australia’s only combined CLT and GLT (glue-laminated timber) radiata pine mass timber facility. The commissioning of the CLT line follows the production of the facility’s first GLT beam in August.

The new line is capable manufacturing panels up to 16 meters long and 3.5 meters wide and will unlock significant capability to manufacture mass timber building products in Australia, according to the company. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of October, and NeXTimber is now accepting orders for both products.
