Greystar Real Estate Partners Opens New Modular Facility in Western PA to Manufacture Apartments

Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC, a global investment, development, and management of rental housing properties, recently announced (4-19-23) the opening of its flagship manufacturing facility for its modular construction business, Modern Living Solutions (“MLS”), which focuses on attainable and sustainable housing.

The new facility will be located in Knox, Pennsylvania. At the new manufacturing facility, MLS will conduct both the design and assembly of modular apartments, streamlining the process on all fronts. The facility is in the process of hiring 170 full-time employees needed to execute the ramp-up and operations of MLS’s first modular factory.

The factory will initially serve the Mid-Atlantic region, focusing on areas 30–45 minutes outside of major metropolitan areas such as Pittsburgh, PA, and Baltimore MD, where Greystar says essential workers live and the housing supply is low.
