Western Forest Products Announces Temporary Lumber Production Reduction for the Remainder of 2022

Western Forest Products Inc., an integrated forest products company, announced today (11-30-22) it plans to temporarily reduce lumber production output by approximately 20 million board feet through the remainder of 2022. This to manage inventory levels to meet current market conditions.

According to the company, the temporary reduction in lumber production will be spread across its British Columbia manufacturing platform throughout the month of December. Remanufacturing and shipping operations will continue uninterrupted. Lumber production at impacted sites is expected to resume in January 2023.

Western says that it will continue to evaluate market conditions on an ongoing basis to maintain a balance between production and demand.
