Interfor Corporation Announces $30 Million Expansion Plan at Summerville, S.C. Sawmill

Interfor Corporation has announced that it plans to expand its sawmill operations in Summerville, South Carolina. Interfor plans on investing $30 million (USD) to increase production capacity needed to “meet growing demand for its products, improve manufacturing productivity, and enhance product mix.” The expansion is projected to be finished by the end of 2022.

In a statement about the Interfor’s investment, Interfor Senior Vice President of Southern Operations, Bruce Luxmoore, said, “This significant follow-on investment will help position the Summerville mill for the future and ensure it remains competitive throughout all market conditions for many years to come.”
