Dunkley Lumber to modernize Edgewood sawmill operation
Dunkley Lumber Company has announced that it is making a substantial investment to upgrade its Edgewood Forest Products operation. The company website says the Edgewood facility currently has an annual production capacity of 140 million board feet of SPF stud lumber and boards.
The company has selected the BID Group to provide turnkey services to design, engineer, fabricate, and install a new saw line, trim line, lumber handling system, and two dry kilns. The automated system will include artificial intelligence-enabled optimization.
Work on-site is scheduled to begin late in the third quarter of 2022, with start-up staged through early 2023.
Commenting on the upgrade project at the Edgewood facility, Dunkley Lumber President Rob Novak said, “This project will deploy the best complement of BID’s state-of-the-art technologies to expand and upgrade the facility and enhance our ability to deliver the highest quality products our customers count on from Dunkley Lumber.”
