US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in April
USDA: US wood pellet exports at 933,793 metric tons in April
The US exported 933,792.6 metric tons of wood pellets in April, down 15% from March but up 10% from April 2025, a Biomass Magazine review (6-9-26) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to approximately 18 countries in April. The top destinations were the UK at 762,165.7 metric tons, followed by Japan at 94,009 metric tons, and Denmark at 60,774.5 metric tons.
The value of US wood pellet exports was $182.77 million in April, down from $205.24 million in March but up from $159.39 million in April 2025.
Total wood pellet exports for the first four months of 2026 reached 3.61 million metric tons at a value of $693.64 million, compared to 3.25 million metric tons valued at $630.45 million during the same period last year.
