Conifex Timber to Temporarily Curtail Production at Its Mackenzie, BC, Sawmill Due to Rail Service Challenges

Conifex Timber Inc. announced on Friday (2-17-23) that it will be temporarily curtailing production at its Mackenzie, British Columbia, sawmill starting on Tuesday (2-21-23) for a period of up to two weeks. The company cited unsustainable inventory levels due to rail transportation challenges impacting the interior BC region as the reason for halting production.

Conifex says that it will continue to closely monitor its inventory levels and transportation availability over this period as the rail network addresses operational impacts.

Conifex estimates that the temporary, 2-week curtailment will reduce production capacity by approximately 7 million board feet.
