Tentative Agreement Reached Between Western Forest Products and Striking United Steelworkers Union
In separate announcements both Western Forest Products (WFP) and the United Steelworkers Union (USW) are reporting that with the help of 2 senior mediators, who recently returned to the bargaining table, they have been able to successfully work out an agreement that will hopefully bring the 8 months labor dispute to an end. No specifics about the agreement will be available until members of the USW rank and file have had the opportunity to review the contract with their leaders and to vote on the proposal. Meetings are currently being scheduled.
