Canadian Lumber Production Declines 1.8% in May

On Tuesday, Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported that lumber production decreased 1.8% month-over-month to 4,475.1 thousand cubic meters in May. Year-over-year, production was 9.1% higher.

Canadian sawmills shipped 4,531.9 thousand cubic meters of lumber in May. That is up 7.7% from April and up 6.9% from a year earlier.
