Austrian binderholz Group Purchases Assets of Klausner Lumber One LLC, in Live Oak Florida

In a virtual auction held on Friday, August 21st, 2020, The Austrian binderholz Group, was able to purchase and secure all of the assets of Klausner Lumber One LLC., based in Live Oak, Suwannee County, Florida. The $ 61 million USD, bid surpassed those of Mercer Inc. and Mayr Melnhof Holz, who were the two other active bidders. The transaction which is expected to close in early October 2020. When complete it will be the first binderholz lumber producing facility outside of Europe. In prepared remarks Reinhard Binder, CEO of binderholz, explains the strategic motives as follows: “We see the American solid wood market as a strategic target and growth market for the binderholz Group. The USA is by far the largest consumer of wood in the world – with a growing demand. The purchase of our own production facility in what is by far the largest world market for solid wood was therefore the next logical step. We also want to further develop our successful business model in the USA.”
