Sighting reduced demand for particleboard over the past several years, Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Company has announced it intends to cease operations at their Webb Particleboard plant in Galax Virginia. The plant will continue to operate on a normal schedule to fulfill existing orders and follow a structured closing over the next several weeks. Wyatt Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett’s chief executive officer said in a statement that, “The Webb employees have done a wonderful job producing a quality product and servicing their customers with on-time delivery,” Bassett continued. “Our furniture business is booming, and we look forward to having each Webb employee transfer to Vaughan-Bassett.”
