However, a severe increase of COVID-19 cases in July in the major wood processing cities of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City caused exports in July to drop by -17% compared to June.
Vietnam imported US$1.81 billion of W&WP in the first 7 months of 2021, up 39% against the same period of 2020. Sawnwood, logs, veneer, fiberboard, plywood, wooden seats, and furniture were the main imports. W&WP are imported from 113 countries/territories in the first 7 months of 2021. China, the US, Cameroon, Thailand, and Chile are 5 top sources with the supply of US$1.12 billion, accounting for 62% of the total value of W&WP imports into Vietnam.
