US Wood Pellet Exports Rebound in November

The US exported 873,783.9 metric tons of wood pellets in November, up from 839,226.4 metric tons in October and 655,590.3 metric tons in November 2023, a Biomass Magazine review (1-7-25) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to more than a dozen countries in November. The UK was the top destination at 699,181 metric tons, followed by Japan at 124,883.4 metric tons and Denmark at 33,524.3 metric tons.

The value of pellet exports reached $162.25 million in November, up from $154.72 million in October and $116.73 million in November 2023.

Total wood pellet exports for the first 11 months of 2024 reached 9.12 million metric tons at a value of $1.7 billion, compared to 8.56 million metric tons at a value of $1.58 billion during the same period in 2023.
