US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in February

The US exported 608,572.1 metric tons of wood pellets in February, down 37% from 964,860.7 metric tons in January and down 24% from February 2025, a Biomass Magazine review (04-02-26) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to approximately more than a dozen countries in February. The top destinations were the UK at 471,781.5 metric tons, followed by Denmark at 44,334 metric tons and France at 33,137.6 metric tons.

The value of US wood pellet exports was $116.14 million in February, down from $189.5 million in January and $147.92 million in February 2025.

Total wood pellet exports for the first two months of 2026 reached 1.57 million metric tons at a value of $305.64 million, compared to 1.62 million metric tons valued at $305.88 million during the same period last year.
