Sweden’s Sveaskog Announces Timber Price Increase

Sveaskog, the largest forest owner in Sweden and a state-owned entity, recently announced that it was raising the prices on timber and pulpwood in large parts of the country. This marks the third increase this year.

Effective September 1st, timber assortments are adjusted up by SEK 60–95/m3fub and the price for all pulpwood is adjusted up by SEK 60/m3fub.

In a statement, Sveaskog Purchasing Manager Jens Stenberg said (translated):

“The need for green raw materials in the industry remains high, which contributes to a very good price development for forest products. Sveaskog is now adjusting the price lists to better highlight the value of the Swedish forest across the country. The price increase also creates better conditions for profitable forestry for private forest owners in collaboration with us.”
