Stora Enso Completes Divestment of Its Paper Production Site in Hylte, Sweden
Stora Enso today (4-4-23) reported that it has completed its previously announced (January 27th) divestment of its paper production site in Hylte, Sweden, to Sweden Timber. Sweden Timber is a Sweden-based sawmill and planing mill company.
The transaction is part of the earlier plan to divest four of Stora Enso’s five paper production sites but does not affect Stora Enso’s formed fiber and bio-composite operations located at the Hylte site.
The enterprise value of the transaction is approximately 18 million euros and will result in the reduction of Stora Enso’s annual newsprint paper capacity by 245,000 tons. Stora Enso says that using 2022 figures as benchmark, the divestment is expected to reduce the company’s annual sales by approximately 160 million euros.
