Harvesting of Fire-Damaged Plantations on Kangaroo Island to Begin

Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers Ltd. (KPT) has advised the three levels of government of its intention to harvest fire-damaged plantations on Kangaroo Island. In order to recover the higher value logs salvage harvesting will being in the area of fire-damaged pine logs. Early work will start this year with the selecting of trees along power lines, with full harvesting expected to start in early 2021. The salvage harvest is expected to generate in excess of $200 million in economic activity for the island over the next four years.
