Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Increase Year-Over-Year in June

According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (except pulp and paper) increased 7.4% to US$313.1 million in June compared to $291.5 million in June 2023.

Pine sawnwood exports increased 1.9% in value to $59.7 million in June, up from $58.6 million in June 2023. In volume, exports remained the same at 251,000 m3.

Tropical sawnwood exports declined 4.9% in volume to 27,300 m3 in June, down from 28,700 m3 in June 2023. In value, exports fell 22.2% to $11.2 million in June, down from $14.4 million in June 2023.

Pine plywood exports soared 61.9% in value, growing to $79.0 million compared to $48.8 million in June 2023. In volume, exports increased 51.7% to 224,900 m3 in June, up from 178,300 m3 in June 2023.

Tropical plywood exports remained the same in volume and value in June at 2,900 m3 and $1.8 million.

The value of wood furniture exports declined 2% to $44.5 million in June, down from $45.4 million in June 2023.
