Belarusian Sawn Timber Exports Increase Nearly 40% in 2023

The Belarusian News Agency (BelTA), the country’s state-owned national news agency, reported on Monday (1-29-24) that exports of Belarusian sawn timber were up by almost 40% in 2023, according to figures released by the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.

In 2023, domestic forestry sold more than 955,000 m3 of sawn timber products abroad. “This is 37.8% greater than in 2022. The figures are record-breaking,” the ministry said. The press release cited by BelTA stated that the “Forestry Ministry managed to reorient trade flow from Western European markets to the markets of friendly countries. Today, the products of Belarusian forestry enterprise are supplying nine countries.”
