GP Lumber Business Collaborating With Mass Timber Industry Leader on New Ponce City Market Loft

Georgia Pacific’s (GP) lumber business is collaborating with a leader in the mass timber industry on a new four-story loft office building in Atlanta’s famous Ponce City Market.

The 619 Ponce Street office building is being developed by Jamestown, a global real estate and investment firm. GP has helped its customer, SmartLam North America, to develop the correct specifications for using southern yellow pine lumber in a mass timber application.

When complete the building will include 90,000 square feet of office space and 23,000 square feet of ground-level retail space and will have targeted LEED certification and net-zero carbon operations.
