Producer Price Index for Final Demand Products Increased 0.3% in October
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Friday (11/13) that the Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand increased 0.3% in October, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices rose 0.4% in September and 0.3% in August. On an unadjusted basis, the final demand increased 0.5% for the 12 months ending in October, which is the largest advance since moving 1.1% higher for the 12 months ending in February 2020. The index for final demand less food, energy, and trade services increased 0.2% in Octobre, the sixth consecutive increase. For the 12 months ending in October, prices for final demand less food, energy and trade services rose 0.8%, the largest advance since moving 1.0% higher for the 12 months ending in March 2020.
