Pretium Partners Inks $1.5 Billion Deal to Purchase Thousands of D.R. Horton Homes

Pretium Partners, a leader in the single-family rental market space, has completed a transaction with the nation’s largest single-family homebuilder, D.R. Horton Inc., to acquire thousands of D.R. Horton homes.

According to a summary of reports by The Real Deal (6-2-23), D.R. Horton is selling more than 4,000 homes, largely located in the Southeast and Southwest, for a value of approximately $1.5 billion. The same sources note that the sale includes a combination of finished homes, as well as those that have yet to be completed. The Wall Street Journal said the homes were planned as rentals and many are already leased.

Two years ago, Pretium Partners agreed to buy 2,000 homes from Zillow, as Zillow was in the process of winding down its iBuying operation, paying market price for the scattered properties.
