COVID-19 Pandemic Proves to be a Catalyst for Home Improvement
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered how many Americans work and go to school. Instead of large office complexes and classrooms, many Americans continue to work and receive educational instruction from their homes. This has created a need to create a more business \ school like atmosphere. Everything from paint and better lighting to converting attic space, garages and even basements into useable space has fueled another quarter of home improvement. Kitchens and bathrooms have been updated as well, with homeowners seeing the inside and outside of their home as an investment. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot, as well as other regional large box store retailers, as well as some lumber yards have benefited from this surge in activity. The increase in activity is projected to last well into 2021 as many workers will continue to work from home even with an effective vaccine available.
