Campbell Global Acquires 28,200 Acres of Oregon Timberland

Campbell Global, the timberland investment manager of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, announced Monday the acquisition of Emerald Ridge, a 28,200-acre (11,400-hectare) timberland property in Oregon’s north coastal and Willamette Valley regions.

Emerald Ridge contains roughly 8.5 million trees across a mix of species, including Western hemlock, Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, red cedar, and red alder. The property will be managed under Sustainable Forestry Initiative standards, reflecting the firm’s commitment to responsible stewardship. Future operations are expected to support living-wage employment in rural Oregon communities.

The tract includes more than 365 miles (584 km) of perennial and intermittent streams—70 miles (112 km) of which support fish populations—and about 3,100 acres (1,300 hectares) of streamside buffers to protect water quality. It also preserves a range of wildlife habitats, including 390 acres (160 hectares) dedicated to species such as the northern spotted owl, bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, and marbled murrelet.
