Norfolk Southern Reaches Five-Year Agreement With Signalmen
On Tuesday, Norfolk Southern announced that it reached a five-year collective bargaining agreement with the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS).
The new contract covers nearly 970 BRS members across the company’s network and includes an 18.8% compounded wage increase over the next five years. It also improves vacation benefits, expands health care coverage, and introduces local work-rule enhancements such as improved travel-expense reimbursement and more flexible scheduling for signal construction.
With this deal, Norfolk Southern has now reached ratified agreements with 12 of its 13 unions, while one tentative agreement remains pending ratification.
